Teaching Lerning Materials (T.L.M)
At the time of teaching the students, teacher
uses some ar ticles and aids to make his teaching and learning process more
effective and successful. As English is a second language or foreign language
the teaching materials play a important role. Selection and proper utilization
of T.L.M must be done continiously. This T.L.M are used by the student also.
T.L.M can be seen by the whole class easily. This helps learning to remain in
the mind of the students long time.
Different Types of T.L.M
Mostly six types of T.L.M are very often used in
teaching and learning.
1. Visual: Black Board chalk, White Board marker pen, Flan
nel Board, Bulletin board, Chart, Globe. Map,Still pro jected Picture, Diagram,
model, moving projected picture, Text books, Slide projection, OHP, etc.
2. Audio: Radio, Cassete player, DVD player, Audio CD,
3. Tape recorder: Gramaphone etc. 3. Audio Visual : Video cassete
player, DVD player, Televi sion, Flim projection etc.
4. Language laboretory: The place where the student can hear the
language-oriented talks using headphone, is called language laboratory. From
this laboratory student gets good opportunity to develop his listening and
speaking skills.
5. Activity based AID: Educational tour, drama, etc.
6. Auto instructional and computer aided learning: Teaching machine and computer
based educational passage, etc.
T.L.M. makes teaching very scientific and
effective. It is used as supplemit of oral teaching and motivation. These in
struments create interest in student and prevent indiscipline and monotony. It saves
time to clear the content to student and provide direct experience.
